Instructions : Pulling the patient up to the head of the bed
- Ask the patient to fold their arms if possible.
- Attach the sheet clamps to each side of the patient.
- Raise the side rails.
- Raise the bed fully (do not raise mattress top past height marker on the ErgoNurse frame).
- Lift each belt to remove slack from the sheet, then gently tug each belt down to assure it is locked.
- Lower the bed; the sheet will form a sling underneath the patient.
- The patient will be gently pulled to the head of the bed. When the patient is in the desired position, stop lowering the bed.
- Raise the bed to a comfortable working height and release the seat belts. NOTE: If it is desired to turn the patient just remove one sheet clamp.
- Remove the locking bar(s) and return the bars and sheet clamps to the hanging pins on the side of the lift.
- Close the swing arms.
- Do not allow patients to lock their heels over the footboard or between the mattress and footboard, since this will impact the function of the ErgoNurse.
